Planet People Missing In Action

So, according to google analytics, people are still reading Planet People. Not exactly in the same numbers we enjoyed when the posts were plentiful, but nothing to be ashamed of. Thanks, who ever you are.

I admit, I feel a little guilty, a little ashamed. See, I started going to school, which only exacerbated an existing negligence that was the culprit for waning posts. But lately, the guilt is unbearable. So, in the spirit of patching up our relationship, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about what’s been going on…

As I previously mentioned, I started going to school, LACC to be specific. As it turns out, there’s lots of foreigners at LACC. Not like immigrants who have lived here their whole lives, but legit transfer students from crazy places like mongolia, which is cool.

Felipe discovered free cable in our house! For the last two weeks I’ve become increasingly entranced by the 24 hour news cycle. CNN, to FOX NEWS, back to CNN, CSPAN for a sec, back to CNN. It’s a little crazy. I realize we all know it, but whoa! FOX NEWS is some shit. (cut me some slack: I’ve been without cable access for a long time.) The only problem is the TV is in Felipe’s room, and he’s a real pill about his sheets getting contaminated by human touch, something to do with Catholic guilt.

Tarek, our Egyptian film student friend, just moved back to LA from Cairo to get his MFA. He bought an Audi A4 with the blood of the impoverished, smokes gang loads of week and his caustic Arab temperament is always a good source of comedy. We’re happy to have him.

Russ seems to have injured his leg again, cause unknown, (I thinks it’s a mixture of bad posture and alcohol) and may be on crutches for some time. If all goes as planned, I’ll be visiting him in Buenos Aires in December.

The Stock Market crashed, McCain’s hands are freaky, and our kids might eat out of UNICEF bags before we burn off our beer belly.

So there you have it, the raw politics, fair and balanced. Sorry for being a mark, how can I repay you?
